Real Applications. Real Experience. Customized Solutions.
For more than 40 years, Transportation Resources, Inc. (TRI) has been developing customized software applications that help businesses solve problems, improve efficiency, and make better use of their information.
Our strength has always been understanding how businesses operate and translating that understanding into practical, dependable software solutions. Over the years, we’ve developed applications serving transportation companies, logistics providers, warehouses, and organizations with specialized operational requirements. Many of these applications have evolved into established software products that continue to serve businesses today. The solutions showcased here represent more than software products. They demonstrate our experience, creativity, and commitment to developing technology that addresses real business challenges.
Our applications are available today, but what makes them especially valuable is our ability to customize them to meet your specific requirements.
We believe that software should accommodate the way your business works, not require you to change successful business practices to accommodate the software.
OrderTrack® — Transportation & Logistics Management
Connecting Operations, Information, and Customers
Transportation and logistics operations generate enormous amounts of information. Orders, shipments, customers, carriers, inventory, and financial transactions must all work together.
OrderTrack® was developed to help organizations manage this information while improving visibility throughout the transportation process. Our application provides capabilities for order tracking, purchase order management, load building, inventory control, and billing. By integrating operational information with web-based technology, OrderTrack can also provide customers and business partners with access to shipment information. One of OrderTrack’s greatest strengths is flexibility. Information can be exchanged with existing business systems through database integration, file transfers, and customized interfaces. Whether a company needs a comprehensive logistics management system or a specialized application addressing a particular operational requirement, OrderTrack provides a proven foundation upon which customized solutions can be developed.
Better information leads to better decisions, improved customer service, and more efficient operations.
TriRate® — Freight Rating & Tariff Management
Making Complex Transportation Pricing Manageable
Few business processes are as complicated as transportation rating.
Rates may depend on distance, weight, commodity, equipment, carrier, customer agreements, geographic regions, and numerous other variables. Different transportation companies frequently employ entirely different rating methodologies.
TriRate® was developed to address this complexity.
Our rating applications accommodate a wide variety of transportation pricing requirements, including mileage-based rates, weight-based charges, unit pricing, customer-specific tariffs, and specialized contractual arrangements. We have developed rating logic for carriers whose pricing structures differ significantly from traditional transportation models. For example, one carrier may calculate charges based on shipment weight and mileage, while another may use unit rates, minimum charges, equipment requirements, and specialized handling factors. TriRate can be customized to accommodate these differences. Our experience also includes importing and exporting rating information, integrating tariff databases, and connecting rating applications with transportation management and freight accounting systems.
When your pricing methodology doesn’t fit conventional software, we can develop software that fits your methodology.
Freight Accounting — Financial Management for Transportation
Where Transportation Operations Meet Financial Accountability
Transportation accounting involves much more than generating invoices.
Freight charges, accessorial services, customer agreements, carrier settlements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting must all be managed accurately. TRI develops customized freight accounting applications designed specifically for transportation-related businesses. Our experience includes systems supporting trucking companies, specialized carriers, brokers, freight forwarders, and other logistics organizations. By integrating operational information with financial processing, our applications help reduce duplicate data entry, improve accuracy, and provide management with more timely information. Freight accounting applications can include customer billing, carrier settlements, transaction processing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger integration, and specialized financial reporting. Because each transportation company operates differently, we work closely with clients to accommodate their business rules, billing arrangements, and accounting requirements.
Accurate financial information is essential. Getting that information efficiently shouldn’t be complicated.
TRICS — Inventory & Warehouse Management
Bringing Accuracy, Visibility, and Efficiency to Inventory Control
Inventory management is an essential function for businesses that manufacture, distribute, warehouse, or transport physical products. Knowing what inventory is available, where it is located, and how it moves through an organization is critical to maintaining operational efficiency. TRICS was developed to support these requirements. Our inventory control applications provide capabilities for receiving, inventory tracking, order processing, picking, shipping, and reporting. Barcode scanning and mobile data collection can be incorporated to improve transaction accuracy and reduce the time required for manual processing. TRICS can also be integrated with accounting applications, purchasing systems, transportation management software, and other business databases. Our experience includes developing solutions for private warehouses, public warehousing operations, and organizations requiring specialized inventory management capabilities. Because inventory procedures vary widely among businesses, TRICS can be customized to accommodate unique product identification methods, storage requirements, transaction processes, and reporting needs.
Accurate inventory information improves productivity, reduces errors, and helps businesses make informed decisions.
iTrif — Mobile Business Applications
Extending Business Applications Beyond the Desktop
Long before mobile access became an everyday expectation, TRI recognized the value of placing business information directly into the hands of employees and customers.
That recognition led to the development of iTrif, our initiative dedicated to mobile, data-integrated business applications. Our mobile application experience includes time and billing entry, sales activity reporting, meeting requests, expense tracking, purchase order requests, and physical inventory transactions. These applications demonstrate how mobile technology can simplify data collection, improve communication, and provide convenient access to essential business information. Today, smartphones, tablets, and responsive web applications provide even greater opportunities to extend business systems beyond the office. Our approach focuses on developing practical mobile solutions that integrate with existing databases and operational systems. Whether employees are working in the field, visiting customers, managing inventory, or traveling between locations, mobile applications can provide access to the information and functions they need.
The right information, in the right hands, at the right time.
Customization Is What Makes the Difference
The applications showcased here demonstrate our experience developing software for specialized business requirements. But no two businesses are exactly alike. Organizations have different customers, operating procedures, pricing methodologies, reporting requirements, and competitive challenges. Commercial software often requires businesses to compromise their established processes to accommodate a predefined set of features.
At TRI, we take a different approach. We begin by listening. We work with our clients to understand their operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and determine how technology can best support their objectives. Sometimes an existing TRI application provides an excellent starting point. Other times, a completely new application is the appropriate solution. Our experience with Microsoft SQL Server, .NET, ASP.NET, Microsoft Access, database integration, web technologies, and emerging artificial intelligence capabilities allows us to develop solutions ranging from relatively simple applications to sophisticated, mission-critical business systems.
The objective is never simply to deliver software. It is to deliver a solution that makes your business work better.
Four Decades of Experience. Partnerships That Last.
Technology has changed dramatically since TRI began developing software in 1982.
We’ve worked through the evolution of personal computers, local area networks, client-server applications, relational databases, the Internet, mobile computing, and now artificial intelligence. Throughout those changes, one principle has remained constant: successful software development depends on understanding the people and businesses the technology is intended to serve. Some of our client relationships have continued for more than 30 years. We believe that longevity reflects the value of working together, maintaining open communication, and developing software that evolves alongside the businesses that depend upon it. Our showcase represents decades of experience, but it also represents something equally important: the trust our clients have placed in us.
We don’t just develop applications. We develop solutions, build relationships, and stand behind our work.
Your Business Could Be Our Next Showcase
Have a Challenge? Let’s Talk.
Every application featured here began with a business challenge. Someone needed better information, a more efficient process, an improved way to serve customers, or a solution that conventional software couldn’t provide. We enjoy those challenges. Whether one of our existing applications provides the foundation or your business requires something entirely new, we’d welcome the opportunity to discuss your ideas.
Your business. Your challenges. Our experience.
