Email Service
We have been hosting email for our clients
for ten years. In that time we have seen SPAM, Viruses,
Pop-ups, Worms, Trojan Horses and other
security problems
escalate to the point where it represents more than 60% of email
traffic.
We have learned to deal with this in a number of ways.
For
Spam Protection we use a combination of the following:
DNS (domain name server) Based Blacklists - We use publically available Blacklists from only the most reputable companies providing this type of service. This includes companies like SpamHaus, Spamcop, NJABL and DSBL. This is the first level of Spam Protection and one of the most effective.
URL Based Blacklists - We use a few of these lists which check the body of the email for websites that are known to be used by spammers. There is almost no chance of false positives with these type of Blacklists. This is the second level of Spam Protection.
We have custom built Content Filters which check for keywords in the email sender address, subject, and/or message body. These filters are highly effective and customizable. These filters also block out unwanted file attachments, most likely viruses. The chance of false positives are low but we can whitelist certain email address, allowing them to bypass this level of Spam Protection. This includes inbound email from a specific company/user, or also, if someone hosted on our server doesn't want this level of protection, we can take them out of it completely. This is the third level of Spam Protection.

We
have a web based email client that is available for use. Its
robust, allowing HTML composing, file attachments, image
insertions, an online address book which can import your current
email address in a .csv file format. You can set your own Out of
Office away messages, have your email forwarded to a separate
email address and much more!
Our
email servers are tightly managed and we are just a phone call
away from any change which may be needed as well as questions
with your email client, whether you choose to use our web client
or your own client like Microsoft Outlook. If you find some spam
is still sneaking through, we have an email address which you
can forward it to and we will do what we can to block it from
coming through again.
