Like to listen to Books?
I wrote about this last month. If you missed it, click here.
It is a very powerful tool and worth your review. Click below to set up a free account.
Audible is an Amazon company that provides books which can be downloaded to your MP3 player, computer, iPod, iPhone, iTouch, iPad, Blackberry or Kindle. Yes Kindle. And not just books. Podcasts, newspapers (like the Wall Street Journal), magazines, radio, TV and original content. Type in a keyword and then sort the results by best sellers, customer rating, release date, length, price, author or title.

Greetings!
First time readers, welcome! Returning readers, welcome back! What's new? Summer is over, time to really get back to work and scheduling is becoming more and more crucial to coordinate our busy days. I have begun testing Google Calendar in earnest and some other applications as well. Sharing just a bit in this newsletter.
We do not want to waste your time. Articles will contain generally less than 250 words. Please have a look and give us your feedback. By all means, forward to a friend using the link at the bottom of the Newsletter. Thanks. Questions? Email me at rmj@trif.com |

Tungle.me I follow an innovative guy on twitter who is more passionate about software and technology than anyone I know. His name is Chris Myles and you can see what Chris is up to at http://friendfeed.com/chrismyles or http://new2me.posterous.com/. One of his recent finds is a site used for scheduling meetings with those you know. It is Tungle.me. http://www.tungle.me/Home/. Tungle.me is a scheduling application that synchs with your existing calendar. Eliminate double-bookings, time zone mishaps and the back-and-forth of finding a time to meet, schedule meetings, inside or outside your organization and invite others to schedule with you, without having to sign up. As they state in their learn more page; The hardest part of making meetings happen is knowing when is the best time. With your Tungle.me page we make it simple for everyone to know when is best for you! You control your availability and we remove all the guessing games. Without having to sign up visitors you can propose multiple meeting times to ensure the best match to your schedule.
Makes no difference if you are PC, Apple, Blackberry, iPhone or Droid. It will work with Tungle. Add your contacts to Tungle (it literally takes one second) and you can easily add people to your meetings. Configure so that others can see you are busy, but can't see more.
If you want to set up a meeting, see if I am busy at http://tungle.me/robertmckayjones.

| Random Acts of Kindness
I've always been interested in hearing about random acts of kindness. We see it all the time (maybe not enough) and it's nice to see it recorded somewhere. So if you're interested, check out a pretty interesting site: The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation site, click on the image. You will see the statement that "the experience of offering a hand, doing a good deed, and feeling the reward of someone else's smile, gratitude and happiness will ensure that kind acts continue". You will also find the quote, "it is difficult to give away kindness. It keeps coming back to you!". More info like this at http://www.actsofkindness.org/welcome.
Established in 1995 as a 501c3 nonprofit organization, The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation is a resource for people committed to spreading kindness. They provide a wide variety of materials on the website, including activity ideas, lesson plans, project plans, teacher's guide, project planning guide, publicity guide, and workplace resources. All free of charge.
If you would like to share some random acts of kindness in your workplace or community, take a look at this site or look at this PDF on workplace kindness. |
WordPress We listen to our clients all the time. This past month Lisa Hamaker from Kaliday Marketing asked if we accommodate blogs as part of our hosting solutions, and if so, could she use WordPress. We did not, but after we looked at the power and control a WordPress Server would provide, we added one.
WordPress is an open source blog publishing application which can be used to make-your-own web sites, content management, but mostly blogs. Yes, you can use blogger.com or posterous.com for a blog - just like I do. But having a WordPress server allows us to control the domain name of your blog.
For example, blog.trif.com is our WordPress blog. It can also be found on posterous at trif.posterous.com. The difference is the power and capabilities of WordPress. If you have the time to spend working through the administration, you can pretty much control your own destiny. If you have any questions, please let us know.
